BYE BYE THREE-QUARTER INCH - video / summer 2004
Facing down the idea of dragging a crate of over one hundred three-quarter inch Umatic mastertapes and raw footage along on yet another move, I came with the alternative of creating new digital masters and destroying the originals. Bye Bye Three-Quarter Inch began with the documentation of that task.

Inventions for a better world - text / fall 2002
The sketch on the left illustrates a revolutionary plan to equip all highrise towers with exterior escape walkways. Using walkway, rather than stairwells will make this escape route wheelchair accessible. These walkways will facilitate the evacuation of compromised buildings in a number of ways.

TRUNK75 - festival / fall 2001
TRUNK 75 was a 2 day festival held in honour of ACAD's 75th anniversary. On Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30, 2001, ACAD Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, and Friends, displayed art works built around the theme of 'vehicle.' The idea was to have fun while displaying or creating art.

TRUNK© was created in October of 1996 by Daniel Dugas and Valerie LeBlanc. At that time we were just coming back into the Maritimes from living in the US and in Alberta for 7 years. We found ourselves in a time period where we had no place to show our work and instead of waiting out that long period between the application and the opening night, we made our own art centre.

The Principal Dancer - streaming video / winter 2001
The Principal Dancer is a poetic video that makes use of visuals and audio to imply thought while a woman performs the tasks of putting in a solitary night shift. No written words is used in this experimental tape. The radio moves between stations under a full moon of potential.

In the Palm of the Hand - Artist in School project / winter 2000
The project In the Palm of the Hand was an Artist in School project made possible by The Arts Development Branch of the New Brunswick Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Culture. The two main goals of the project were: to discuss future plans / possible careers with the students, and to complete an artwork in glass. These goals overlapped during my five day visit to the Barnhill Memorial School.

The strongman appears to be sleepwalking, and is about to step off the edge. He is wading through a swamp carrying a hot potato as world turn around him. It all passes over his head and the cracks are starting to show. Would now be a good time to get out the cards and to cast the die?
Courage & Hope - commemorative sculpture / fall 1998
In 1998, the December 6th Committee commissioned Artist Valerie LeBlanc to complete the commemorative sculpture Courage & Hope. The sculpture was designed to commemorate the loss of the fourteen young women killed in an act of violence against women at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, 1989; and to give a sense of inspiration and hope for the future efforts and achievements of girls and women.

In the spring of 2003, during the Time Travel Internet readings, I wrote out large scale versions of the texts to cue the readers. It didn’t work that well as you could hear the pages being turned which made it difficult for me, the Reader and my Assistant, Daniel Dugas not to laugh.
