The Poetry Squid In the spring of 2003, during the Time Travel Internet poetry readings, I wrote out large-scale versions of the texts to cue the readers. It didn’t work as you could hear the papers being turned and it was hard not to laugh. A downloaded teleprompter worked better. Making up those sheets was a lot of work and I wasn’t ready to throw them out. At Halloween, I came with the idea of using them to make a squid costume. From there, the Poetry Ghost Squid gained a profile that resulted in random appearances, a short videotape and photo stills.
